Who has the LONGEST hair in the world - Xie Qiuping of China or Tran Van Hay of Vietnam

Xie Qiuping is a Chinese woman who holds the record for world's longest hair. On 8 May 2004, her hair was measured to be 5.627 meters (18 ft 5.54 in).

She, now 40 years old, began growing her hair to its current length in 1973 at the age of 13. She is the guinness world record holder for 2004.

Tran Van Hay currently holds the record for Vietnam's longest har. Over 42 years of not cutting his hair.

He has hair that measures 6.3 m (20 ft 7 in). Van is 73 years old. He stopped cutting his hair when he and his wife had their first child to avoid being sick.

40+ years later, Mr. Van Hay is now awaiting approval into Guinness World Records as having the longest hair in the world! "He can't work anymore as a farmer because of the volume of hair so he's just collecting herbs for traditional medicine as charity work," he said. According to the Thanh Nien (Young People) newspaper, Mr Tran last washed his hair six years ago, and now usually ties it up and covers it with a scarf.
